Key Points In Choosing Acai Products

In the last post What Is Acai, We've learned that acai berries are very high in nutrition and that it keeps us healthy.  Let's look at some key points in choosing acai products now.

The thing we have to be careful about these acai products we hear about, is that it is being talked about all around the world like crazy and there is a lot of money being made on it in the health industry (one of the most popular industries of all time).

You know what happens when people are competing heavily in this type of war....yes. scams are everywhere!
People want to make money.  So in order to better protect ourselves as consumers, we are going to need due diligence and keep in mind a few basic points. Let's get into them.

  • Check proportion of Acai

Watch out because many companies are pretty unclear about this.  They might label it like "The Acai blend" or "Acai Based Product" and make it sound like acai is the most included but actually might not include very much of the Acai itself.

In some extreme cases companies were promoting the Acai word aggressively but the product only had 0.1~2% of Acai powder in them... So don't just go by the catch line, but actually read what is included in the ingredients.

  • Do they provide samples?

Of course people have different preference when it comes to taste, so this is another factor to keep in mind. Just a note, it's also said when too much acai is concentrated, it can disturb the digestive system in the body in some cases.  Typically the percentage of acai in products is usually around 20~25%.

Have you tried an acai berry before? Do you know what it actually tastes like? Most importantly, do you  know what the taste is like for the product you're thinking of buying?

Well if you haven't tasted it you just wouldn't know.  So make sure the company you're buying from has a sample ready to ship.  It could even be like a one week trial period offer.  If the company was saying so many great things about it, wouldn't you think they would at least do things like this?

  • Look for trusted sources about the product

Do they have thawte safe secure money processing?  Is the product or nutritional facts approved by the FDA? Did a University professor approve or recommend the product?

Acai is a foreign fruit from Brazil and grows for example outside of the US.  So the US government has less power for imposing strict requirements on the fruit.  Of course Brazil in this case takes the lead and approves its domestic acai berries.

So always check for official types of approvals and protect your self.
